About Beth

Beth Freschi, MA, Psychotherapist

*** Beth is currently taking new clients for in-person sessions.

My counseling approach centers on supporting people in search of greater understanding, self-compassion, emotional well-being, as well as a path forward. My specialties include working with Highly Sensitive Persons (HSPs), Empaths, college and graduate students, and individuals 18 years and older. I particularly enjoy working with those who consider themselves creative. I offer in-person sessions for individuals, groups, and couples looking for deep, reflective conversations and integrative therapies in a comfortable, safe space.

I believe that people are more than the challenges that bring them to counseling. I am fascinated by individual differences, and appreciate the many ways people experience the world. And most importantly, and with empathy, I strive to honor the dignity of every person and their individual perspectives and life experiences.

My interest in psychology began in college, graduating from St. Olaf College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and then continuing on to earn a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the University of St. Thomas. My work with clients in a community mental health center and patients on a psychiatric unit expanded my compassion for people struggling with serious mental health issues. Over the years, I also developed a coaching practice focused on relaxation techniques, stress management, and personal growth.

I am now working towards licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in Minnesota. I practice integrative counseling that includes client-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and trauma-informed therapy, along with mind/body techniques and experiential elements such as music, movement, journaling, artwork, and therapeutic role-play. Many of the people I see find that these integrative therapies help them gain more self-awareness and see new possibilities.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

I believe that counseling should be as accessible as possible. Because of this I accept private pay and many insurance plans. I can also provide a reimbursement receipt that you can submit to your Health Savings Account (HSA), Flexible Spending Account (FSA), or out-of-network insurance plan. Many people appreciate the simplicity, flexibility, and privacy of private-pay counseling, which lets us focus on the counseling relationship without the requirements that sometimes accompany insurance reimbursement. A sliding fee scale is sometimes available for those experiencing financial hardship.

If you prefer to use insurance, I am able to accept several in-network insurance plans, including Aetna, Health Partners, Blue Cross Blue Shield of MN, Anthem, Cigna, Hennepin Health, and some non-commercial Medica and United HealthCare plans. I can also accept MN Medical Assistance (Medicaid) as well as straight Medical Assistance. At this time, I am unable to accept Medicare, Beacon, Commercial Medica, Optum, Commercial United HealthCare insurance plans, or Employee Assistance Plans (EAPs). I recommend contacting your insurance company to confirm your coverage for therapy services. All services are billed under Jennie Yngsdahl, MA, LP, who is my direct clinical supervisor. Please contact me to discuss the best option for you.
