About Jessica

Jessica Pendal MA, LADC, Licensed Professional Counselor

As a therapist, I am committed to collaborative, compassionate mental health care that honors your autonomy and respects what makes you unique. Ultimately, I’m here to help you help yourself to thrive.

First and foremost, I ground my practice in the person-centered tradition of Carl Rogers because I believe completely that you are the expert on your life, what needs to be addressed, and where you hope to go.  Since I also believe that when it comes to mental health care “one size does not fit all,” I take an integrative, multi-modal approach to therapy.  Your narrative, your history, and the realities that you negotiate are unique to you – and a method that might resonate with someone else may not resonate with you.  I work closely with each person to create a treatment plan that, while based on an assessment of specific needs, relies heavily on a client’s stated needs and goals.

In addition to collaborating with clients to find the approach that best fits their needs, I am happy to be able to offer my clients Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), not to be confused with creative Art Therapy.  ART can be a powerful tool for those suffering with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, substance abuse, and other conditions.

I have worked with clients dealing with co-occurring disorders, including substance use, depression, anxiety, bipolar, traumatic brain injuries, trauma, ASD, and adult ADHD. Choosing to initiate mental health therapy, while daunting, is the important first step toward healing.  I work with adults ages 18+.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Payment options include use of your health insurance (in or out of network), private direct payment per session, FSA or HSA plans.  I accept most insurance plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Preferred One, Aetna, UCare, Cigna, Medica, Optum, and UnitedHealthCare.  Unfortunately, I am not able to accept any Medicare plans currently.  I recommend contacting your insurance company to confirm the specifics of their coverage for therapy services.  A limited number of sliding fee slots are sometimes available for those experiencing financial hardship.  Please contact me to discuss the best option for you.
