Jessica Pendal MA, LADC, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor
As a therapist, I am committed to collaborative, compassionate mental health care that honors your autonomy and respects what makes you unique. Ultimately, I am here to help you help yourself to thrive. I practice eclectic therapy, meaning that I draw from a variety of disciplines, customizing the therapeutic process for each client by using whatever form of treatment, or combination of treatments, has been shown to be most effective for addressing a particular problem or achieving a specific client-defined objective. When it comes to mental health care “one size does not fit all,” I take an integrative, multi-modal approach to therapy. Your narrative, your history, and the realities that you navigate are unique to you – and a therapeutic method that might resonate with someone else may not resonate with you.
The specific types of therapy I often incorporate into treatment include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Additionally, I am a certified Accelerated Resolution Therapy®(ART) provider. ART is a brief evidence-based form of psychotherapy that combines techniques used in many other traditional psychotherapies and utilizes bilateral eye movements. ART allows your brain to focus on a problem, process emotions and sensations related to the problem, and find the solution to resolve it through memory reconsolidation. ART can be a powerful tool for those suffering with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, substance abuse, eating disorders, and other conditions.
Choosing to initiate mental health therapy, while daunting, is the important first step toward finding your peace. I work with adults ages 18+.
“Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.” ~ Unknown
